The Polk County Industrial Economic Development Board, a corporation established in Tennessee in 1981, is committed to the County's economic development. The Board's mission is to attract industry, health care, recreational, retail, and, most importantly, jobs to the County. By working with enterprises and incentivizing organizations to locate and conduct their business in Polk County, the Board hopes to generate proper growth in the area.
The Board comprises seven volunteer citizen Board members who are not just individuals but representatives of Polk County's four districts. These members have been appointed and vetted by the County Executive and ratified by the Polk County Commissioners.
The Board meets on the first Thursday of each quarter (January, April, July, and October) at 6:30 p.m. at the Polk County Courthouse in Benton.
